The most poignant stories are often those which cut close to the flesh. The Inconsolable Truth is one such story.
It is the saga of two people – Manjula and Soumyabrata – who pass through life seeking answers to some of the most fundamental questions that help define our identity. Who are we? Where do we belong? What is it that binds us together – as people, families and ethnic groups? Do our roots or the concept of identity hold any meaning in today’s world? What then can we bank on as we pass through life and take on all the challenges that life throws at us?
Will the answers that Manjula and Soumyabrata find at defining moments of their lives ever provide clarity to the couple or will they lead to further questions and fewer and fewer answers?
Only time will tell.
